"This is great, but it can be too dark. Use the distilled water to mix as the directions state. I apply with a clean mascara brush to cover the hair in the brows evenly. Make sure you use vasaline on the skin aroune the brows to keep from staining the skin as the stain remover doesn't work that well."

Pros: works as advertised, long lasting, water/cry/sweat proof
Cons: steady hands are a must, price
"I just used this product for the first time and overall, Im quite pleased with the results. I have thin, sparse eyelashes and eyebrows. I began with the eyebrows first before moving onto the lashes. You will need vaseline and I recommend Q-tips and either a fine paintbrush or small, angled makeup brush (like for applying wet shadow as eyeliner). I tossed those toothpick-looking things that require being wrapped in cotton (not included). Hmm, sounds like a job for a Q-tip to me! The eyebrows were easy enough. Just follow the instructions. Eyelashes are a little more complicated, especially like me if you have very few and they are short. Do ONE AT A TIME! I mean, apply the #1 solution to both and let them dry but only TINT one at a time. I used q-tips to apply the #1 solution and the thin paintbrush for the tint (#2 solution). The dye burns if you get it in your eye so let it dry thoroughly before you open it to inspect your work and clean up the smudges. Speaking of smudges, use a clean q-tip to clean up any area you dont want tinted. The instructions say not to get it on the skin or attempt to dye the lashes to the roots BUT...I liked the way the tint looked when I applied a very thin coat of it like liquid eyeliner along the upper lash line. It looks like I am wearing eyeliner, which I would have to do whether my lashes are tinted or not because my lashes ARE so sparse. This is a lot less painful than getting your eyelids tattooed and I like that I can swim and cry and sweat and this "mascara" and "eyeliner" combo don't run. If you have steady hands and are a master at applying liquid eyeliner, I'd say go for it. Otherwise, might want to get a friend to help. Reapply every 7-10 days. Hope this helps and happy tinting!"

Cons: doesn't work
"I was excited about not having to apply mascara for weeks so I applied... and reapplied Roux lash dye...six times... and...nothing. I have medium brown hair and lashes and could see no change whatsoever. Maybe it could work if your lashes/brows are white or very light but I blew 40.00 and wasted my time."

Worked great!
Date:February 13, 2011
Pros: easy to use, lots of applications in a kit, quick
"My hair is naturally a dark red but my brows are silvery blonde! I used hair color to tint my brows and it wouldn't get to a natural looking color, got a bit orangeish. I bought this in brown and not only was it easier to apply but worked SOOO much better! Using a cotton ball I wrapped a bit of cotton around 2 little sticks and used a stick for part 1 and a clean stick with cotton for part 2. Simple, not messy at all, didn't need the stain remover and you took only 1 dip into solution to do both sides. I think a Q-tip would hold too much & be too big. I love it!!"

Great Product and Great Value!!
Date:September 21, 2010
Pros: great results!, save $$ - by doing it yourself!, easy!!!!
"I was skeptical when I bought this product, but didn't want to pay the price at a salon for them to dye my graying eyebrows and my eyelashes. I tried it and it is extremely easy and the results are FABULOUS!!! I would recommend using Q-tips instead of the wood picks provided in the box, Q-tips work a lot better and are faster to use... If you just go slow and with a steady hand you will not get the dye on your skin. And if you do, the kit provides dye remover and use a Q-tip for this too. Lickity split and you are done! I LOVE this product!!"

"I have very light eyelashes. This product failed to color them. I used the Brown. I applied several coats. It didn't color at all. Perhaps it would have worked better if I had purchased the black."

i also have very light brows and lashes .while i have used this product for years ..at first i had the same problem with not getting any coverage .I finally figured out that you have to strip your lashes of all products any cleaning product any mascara especially if you wear water proof ....soap and water will get most everything off ......just don't get soap in your peepers.....also using a disposable mascara wand will help getting it on .can anybody tell me why i can't get the individual packages for single application any more ...i feel the product dioxidizes after opening, a bit ,leaving the next applications a bit weaker.and i do use black on my lashes and brown on my brows

Love this!!!!
Date:March 1, 2010
Pros: cheaper then salons
Cons: will stain skin if not careful
"This is my first attempt at do it yourself eyelash tinting. I will never have it done at the salon again! I love this product! I used the Black because like all eyelash tinting it doesnt last forever and does fade over time so to get the longest results I use black. I also used a Q Tip to apply the liquid instead of the lame toothpik looking things it came with. I just took my time and tried to keep a steady hand because it does stain skin if left on any length of time. I put vasaline on the skin around my eyes first to keep the dye that might touch from absorbing but be very careful not to touch your lashes with it or the dye will not absorb and take to the lashes. This product will last me for a very very long time and I will definitely do them again!"

Roux Eyelash Tint-A good Buy!
Date:November 22, 2009
Pros: you don't have to wear mascara!
Cons: be neat because drips do stain the skin.
"I think this is a good product. I live in San Diego and there is literally NO SALON that does lash tinting. When I travel to NYC, I have it done there, but that is only 3-4 times/year. You must have a pretty steady hand, magnifying mirror and about 30 minutes from start to finish. Take your time, and do not over saturate the tint on the swab. For $35, it looks like there may be 15-20 applications, and at $26/tint in the salon, this saves alot of money. I love that I can go to the gym and not have to look all washed out, and no mascara to streak and run. I would highy recommend trying this tint."

"I use this product in the salon and spa I work in. Although different from the product I used in school, I like the ease and timeliness of the product. People who are having trouble with tinted skin are obviously not using the product correctly or by the instructions. I do not use petroleum on the skin, just moist 2x2 under the eyes. I rarely have any discoloration on my clients. I really don't think this supposed to be a DIY on your eyelashes, certainly on the brows it can be done."

WORKS WONDERS!
Date:October 21, 2009
Pros: fairly cheap, great product, lasts for weeks, doesn't wash or fade quickly, nice color
Cons: a bit too dark at first
"I've always had very blonde eyelashes and eyebrows, but never knew what I could do to make them permanently darker. I've always had to fill in my brows because of how light they were, and put tons of mascara on because my lashes were so light! Then, I decided to try this tinting product. It seriously has changed my life! I can walk around confidently without any makeup on at all! I no longer have to fill in my brows or wear loads of mascara. It tinted my lashes and brows to a brown color and it lasts for weeks! I've tinted them twice now, and have diluted the brown color just a bit to make them lighter. I HIGHLY recommend this product!!!"

Effective product - with caveats
Date:June 29, 2009
"This is a great product - if you're familiar with the process from having your brows and/or lashes tinted professionally. A neophyte who can't even follow the directions will be lucky to only end up looking like a raccoon or Joan Crawford in a horror movie. If you apply too much solution to your lashes, or don't let the first one dry before applying the second, you risk burning your eyes. A careful user who knows what she's doing, has a steady hand, and uses a good magnifying mirror can get excellent results. It doesn't really last four weeks for me, and I like my naturally pale lashes and brows dark, so I do them every other week. A box still lasts me about 2 years, so while it's a little expensive, it's not a bad buy relatively speaking."

AVOID AVOID AVOID!
Date:March 20, 2009
Pros: abundance of product
Cons: difficult directions, completely deffective
"I have the shortest, blondest lashes imaginable! I've heard that some women dye their lashes, and I thought that I'd be the perfect candidate for this... HOW WRONG I WAS! I will admit that I didn't follow the directions perfectly, but that aside, the end result was nothing short of dark, black, racoon-like rings around my eyes! Sure, my eyelashes were black, but so was the delicate skin around my eyes! After crying for hours, I had my mom call the company, and they suggested some severe rubbing with patrolleum jelly. It took about a week for the dye-job from heck to be reversed, and I swear the skin around my eyes has never been the same! This is definitely an experience I will never risk going through again!"

I really like it
Date:December 12, 2008
Pros: works as advertised, darker brows without makeup, lasts for weeks
Cons: will tint the skin of it is accidentally touched., skin tint is removable with cleanser included
"I've been using this brow tint for several years. I love it. I'm in my 50's and have light colored brows which also are getting a little gray. This is perfect for toning them up a bit. It has never caused me a problem with my skin. If you follow directions and try to only put it on the brow hair, very little should be touching the skin. It's easy to use and works as stated. There is an expiration date on the box. It won't work after the date expires. It's good stuff!"

Not bad

"I've used this to tint eyelashes. While it does color them slightly, it is difficult to coat them evenly if you have thin eyelashes. Using an old mascara brush works best, just don't accidentally mix the products or they won't work at all. And yes it is difficult to get it off your skin without a lot of harsh rubbing."

Road Tar in a Box
Date:October 9, 2008
"I purchased the brown color of this product from my local Sally's and used it on my eyebrows. Not only did it burn and rip my skin to pieces, but it formed a wet slick black substance that glued my eyebrows together (my eyebrows looked like I had pasted them on with road tar).
I tried everything to get this stuff out (including the stain remover that comes with the product that they claim will remove the coloring) and it would not go away. I even bleached my eyebrows with Jolen. Luckily, in my last desperate attempt to remove the product after trying everything from Jolen to Peroxide, I tried Loreal artificial hair color remover and it successfully removed this black tar from my eyebrows. Maybe this product will work for you, but if you try it and end up with eyebrows that look like the feathers of an ocean bird after wading through an oil slick, then don’t say I didn’t warn you."

Tint Me Please!
Date:July 18, 2008
Pros: ease of use
Cons: brows seem to grow really fast!
"I have very happily stumbled upon Roux's Lash and Brow Tint. It is fairly easy to use, and is not strong and harsh like the hair dyes I've tried to use in the past. I have blonde hair, so my brows are fairly light and also have platinum blonde hairs throughout, so I prefer to dye them versus draw them every day. This product will not let you down. For all those who want uniform colored brows without drawing them on, this product is for you."
