heck yeah queen helene
Date:January 13, 2012
Pros: cheap, smells good, works, helps bleached hair
Cons: can make hair crunchy if not thoroughly rinsed out
"I have naturally thick, brittle dry hair. It was even moreso after two bleaches. Someone suggested argan oil to me and it was way too expensive. I used queen helene's cocoa butter for my skin every day (also an awesome product) and when i saw the cholesterol cream it had a lot of good reviews so i tried it. It made my hair SO freaking soft after one application and still feels soft a few days later. The only thing I don't like about it is that you really have to rinse it out thoroughly or else spots of your hair will be hard and crunchy. If you have burnt out hair try it! I'm going to use it after every bleach application."

Smells Bad
Date:August 26, 2011
"I bought this to use once a week as a deep conditioner.
It literally stinks!! I also do not like the way it rinses out, it does not feel silky at all. However, once my hair is dry I can tell that it feels softer. I think I will keep looking for that special conditioner.
You do get a ton of product out of this jar, though. I just don't think the pro's outweigh the cons in this case."

Better than the expensive stuff!
Date:July 8, 2011
Pros: thick, smooth, smells good
"I have thick, coarse, curly hair that I lighten. This conditioner changes the texture to soft and moisturized. I use it for 15 minutes under a shower cap and a hood hair dryer. It rinses out clean and doesn't leave your hair sticky."

Still GREAT!
Date:June 30, 2011
Pros: shine, repair
"I have used this for over 40 years for giving my hair a great shine. My hair is very oily...but this does not add to that oil...but it leaves a shine that just can't be attained anywhere else!"

Works Wonders!
Date:April 9, 2011
Pros: repairs hair, leaves hair soft and "healthy", easy to use
Cons: weird smell but you get use to it :) so worth it, very runny recommend apply in shower or over sink
"I have been coloring my hair dark brown for a while now and have been wanting to switch to a lighter brown/dark blonde. Of course I knew I couldn't do this "easily". I bleached my whole head twice (waiting 24hrs between, as well as applying a hair mask after each bleaching). Needless to say, my hair was VERY damaged, stringy, stuck together, etc. I have done this before so I kind of already knew what to expect, so I didn't freak out. I went to the nearest Sally's (they know me by name now lol) and showed them my hair and asked for their strongest protein treatment (going from black to platinum blonde a couple of years ago I knew that's what my hair was greatly lacking). The lady showed me this...I bought a couple to try...not expecting anything major. Boy was I wrong! It worked wonders!!!! AMAZING! You definitely need to follow the directions to a "T" as well as making sure your hair is closer to dry than damp. I went back the next day and bought a few more! My hair is on it's way to being healthy again! :) I love Sally's :)"

Softens chemically dry hair
Date:December 4, 2010
Pros: softens and moisturizes hair
Cons: has a strong smell
"I actually really like how this product left my hair feeling really soft and smooth. Even though when I got out of the shower, it smelled really strong and honestly made my eyes sensitive to the smell that I had to put my hair up in a pony tail. I know I put a lot on my hair because my hair is extremely thick and coarse. I will still use this but next time I will put some what less of the product and also I will try other hair conditioning treatments until I find the right one for me."

EXCELLENT!
Date:July 11, 2010
"I didn't realize my hair was in such bad condition until it started breaking off and falling out. My mom recommended this to me and, after the first application, I couldn't believe how WONDERFUL my hair felt, looked and smelled (yeah, I like the smell). After ONE application my hair was 100% improved. I will NEVER stop using this product. Ever. It has been a godsend."

Pleasently Suprised
Date:June 24, 2010
Pros: great price for lots of product, repairs almost instantly
Cons: funny smell (but it does not stay so no worries)
"To start off I have very thick, brown-red hair and lots of it. And for some reason I thought it was a good idea to over process and over color my hair to the point that it was kinda stringy. I had to be super careful when brushing it and was very hesitant to use hot tools on it. I was at Sally's looking for some big-expensive repair treatment and saw this. I was a little hesitant but when I stopped to think about it I realized that every single Queen Helene product I have ever used I have absolutely LOVED (whether its for skin or hair). So I gave it a go.
I actually think a miracle happened in my shower when I used it. My hair is stronger and healthier in just one use. I used it about 2 to 3 weeks ago and only left it on for about 15 minutes since I didn't want to stay in the shower all day. It goes on nice and thick and saturates all of your hair quite nicely. The only downside is the smell (not the greatest). But the smell doesn't attach itself to your hair and rinses out. I also didn't notice any change in my color treatment- it didn't fade at all!
I can brush my hair without worries and my hair dries much faster and with less damage. I recommend this and any other Queen Helene product (especially the Cocoa Butter Lotion- another miracle worker) to just about anyone."

Love It
Date:May 2, 2010
Pros: the consistency is great
Cons: could smell better
"Ok so I just left Sally's with this conditioner I love it! i immediately washed and placed the conditioner in my hiar. I like how thick it is compared to the Hair Mayo brand... which runs all over the place. I have thick natural (nappy) hair and this brand sticks to the tight curls of my hair and once I wash it out i am sure it will keep my hair nice and soft."

Great for dry/over bleached hair!
Date:March 13, 2010
Pros: very thick, excellent value, works well
"This is a WONDERFUL conditioner! I have tried numerous deep conditioners to try to repair my hair from being bleached. They did an OK job and then I read about this one and decided to give it a try. It's an excellent value for the price and the sizes you can get it in. A little goes a long way as well, even with long hair. I haven't tried it yet with a hot towel or overnight,as the directions suggest. I let it sit on my hair for 20 mins while in the shower and my hair seems to have less breakage now and feels more substantial. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has bleached, dry, or curly hair."

So good for bleached hair!
Date:March 9, 2010
Pros: creamy consistancy.
Cons: none!
"I have over processed bleached hair and I spent so much money on more expensive treatments that worked somewhat. But, I found this product! it was cheap and a lot came with it. It was amazing! i used a blowdryer every 5 minutes and probably made it work even better. I absolutely would reccomend this product."

I thought it didn't work!
Date:February 3, 2010
Pros: soft and luxurious hair
Cons: smell is not that great
"I bought this conditioner a while back. I used it by leaving it on for 30 minutes with a warm towel. Using it this way it really didn't do much for my hair. But recently I bought a hooded dryer and used it with that. All I can say is- awesome! My hair was left detangled, moisturized, and feeling strong. The only thing I was a little put off by was the smell is not that great and it did stick around after I used it. Other than that, this cholesterol will remain in my rotation. It is cheap, effective, and makes my hair feel really soft and luxurious. Thanks for reading!"

Pros: strong hair, old school gem, great for the $$$$$$$$, heals stressed out hair
Cons: none at all
"I'M A COSMETOLOGIST, AND HAVE RECEIVED MANY SAMPLES OF OTHER, PROFESSIONAL HAIR TREATMENTS. BUT, I ALWAYS HAVE A CASE OF THIS IN MY STORAGE ROOM. AND WHEN I TRY GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE, I'LL JUST RUN RIGHT BACK TO THIS. THE CHOLESTEROL WITH GINSENG IS A LIGHTER FORMULA, IF THE ORIGINAL FORMULA CONCERNS YOU. I'LL NEVER STOP USING THIS, IF YOU HAVEN'T TRIED THIS OR THE ONE WITH/GINSENG I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR WAITING FOR. I'LL HAVE YOU HOOKED, FOR REAL, NO JOKE. I KNOW YOUR NOT STILL SITTING THERE GO GRAB SOME, GO............"

"this is a great conditioner. this product has been around for years. since 1985, ive been using this product and it still works the same. use it as a heat treatment for brittle hair or scalp dryness because it really works and its a good prep treatment two weeks before a perm."
