"I always use the best products from the professional only stores, because I have a cosmetology license. But for the past few months, my hair has been shedding like crazy. Today, I went to Sally's and purchased the trial pack because I didn't want to waste money in case it didn't work. OMG, OMG!! I couldn't believe it.This morning when I combed my hair, clumps of hair were in the comb and on the counter. But after the treatment, only two strands came out. My hair feels thicker and healthier."

Stinky, but Effective!
Date:January 17, 2012
"I have had Apoghee treatments on and off for the past 15 years. They work, I tell you! I did a self-administered one for the first time yesterday. I was a tad scared because I know this is some strong stuff. The instructions are very clear, so its hard to mess up. The mixture is runny, smelly, yet effective! In addition to the included deep conditioner, I added my own for a nourishing treat for my hair. I also recommend sitting under the dryer with the deep conditioner, as you really want the moisture to penetrate your hair and balance the protein.
When I went to comb, there was very few hairs shed!! Hooray!
I use this about every 8-12. My hair really doesnt need more protein than that. Unless your hair is a bale of hay, I do not recommend using weekly unless under the supervision of a professional."

Silky Hair
Date:October 9, 2011
Pros: silky shiny hair
"I have med.-long fine blonde hair that is professionally highlighted approx. every 10- 11wks. I have a few split ends and a tiny bit of dryness at the ends. I was wandering through Sally and picked up this pkg. The salesperson said this product was only for ethnic hair. I was about to put it down when another customer with similar hair said she has used it several times and loved it. Is it me or are most of the employees not well informed?? I bought it even after the salesperson rolled her eyes (yes, very rude!) and used it last week. I didn't find the smell to be that terrible-- but I work @ a hospital. I just used my blow dyer for approx. 12 min. and followed the directions. My hair was very shiny, silky and bouncy. Received many compliments all week."

Great for overprocessed hair
Date:August 23, 2011
Pros: cheap, helps prevent breakage, helps repair damage, helps make hair stronger, restores protein lost in bleaching, made my hair look good again
Cons: long process, requires heat source, sticky, drips everywhere
"I've colored my hair so many times, from blonde to brown, then black, then used bleach a few times to lift it and put a lighter color in. I've used this stuff a few times during that process. I'll be honest, it's kind of a pain to have to do the two step process, and it's very sticky and messy, but also worth it. When I decided I wanted to go back to my platinum blonde look I knew this was essential. I did a treatment of this about 3 days before my bleaching. I have a hooded travel dryer so I after I put this on I sat underneath it for about 10 minutes. Afterwards my hair felt stronger. Then 3 days later I bleached my hair and it felt like slime after rinsing the bleach. There had been a glob of hair in the drain and a ton on my comb, so I did the treatment immediately. My hair felt much better. Still damaged, but stronger, and healthier looking. I only get the normal amount of hair coming out on my brush now. I would recommend using this treatment after any chemical procedure, and before also if your hair is pretty damaged."

Pros: strengthens hair
Cons: sticky, watery, needs a spray bottle
"Ok so I used this the day I took out my braids and omg!!! Usually after I take my braids down, I have a lot of breakage! This saved me!! I only had shedding which is normal and the next day, while i combed my hair out, I noticed only one hair on my comb! I love this stuff and yes I would definitely buy this again. The protein treatment is strong and make sure you follow the directions on the package!!! Amazing product!"

Awesome!
Date:May 10, 2011
Pros: strengthening
Cons: none
"I have extremely curly (corkscrew curls!), frizzy, dry hair. I have tried more products than I can count to truly strengthen and reduce breakage. This stuff WORKS. From the first use, it reduced my breakage by about 90%! The last time I went to get my hair colored and cut, my hairdresser remarked that my hair was REALLY healthy and wanted to know what I was using!"

"I've tried a lot of protein treatments in the past for my relaxed and colored hair. After using this one my hair felt thicker and stronger. It's very important that you follow the directions on the packet, if you do that you can't go wrong with this one."

Not all that!
Date:February 18, 2011
Pros: hair seems less dry, hair is soft, the ends seem saved
Cons: hair is not much stronger, i expected more
"I am white, I colored my hair one too many times. Its coarse and thick and finally down to my waist. I washed my hair with Suave Professionals Rosemary and Mint, then did the 2 step treatment. I used Fantasia IC Inter Cellular and Aphogee Moisture oil sheen on the wet hair and dried it. I still had hard spots and didn't like the texture so I rewashed it with Suave Professionals Rosemary and Mint shampoo and conditioner. It felt strong and wonderful wet, not dry. The ends were soft and flexible. I tried letting it air dry this time. I still looked like a Pomeranian, I had poof and fly away. My hair felt swollen and puffy and wouldn't lay next to each other. I tested the hair, it stretched a little and then broke fairly easily. It does not seem much stronger to me. I couldn't go around looking like a Pom! I ended up putting half an ounce or more of plain old olive oil all over my hair and waiting about 45 minutes before rewashing it again using Sauve Professionals ColorCare shampoo and conditioner. I do not look like a Pom now and the ends look much improved. Not quite a hair model but much improved."

Date:January 28, 2011
Pros: stops breakage fast!
Cons: couldhaveleftmyhairsilkier&a bit more moisturized
"I was looking for a product for my hair that would make it stop breaking off because ever since i had chemical straightening done its been falling out alot. Once i used this product i swear i did not have a single strand of hair come out like it usually does, especially after showering. I can usually pull out 15 strands easily too! its been a couple of days and i have not been shedding hair! this stuff is amazing! i do feel like i cud of used more of the step 1 because my hair is thick and i have alot of hair. but it still WORKED."

Best Reconstructor Ever
Date:January 6, 2011
Pros: repairs damage, effects last months, my hair looks great
Cons: a bit messy, time-intensive
"I use this every time I bleach my hair. It restores so much lost protein, it makes my hair almost like new. I have naturally curly hair and after bleaching it loses curl and is rough and dry. This treatment restores the curl to almost virgin levels and adds a lot of shine. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is very powerful so should not be used more than every few months. The Aphogee 2-Minute Keratin Reconstructor is good to use between the intense treatments."

Better than expected !!!
Date:December 11, 2010
Pros: inexpensive, easy to use, works well, helps longer than any other product i've tried
Cons: first step smells bad, must get the hair very dry 1st step, hair very fragile 1st step
"My hair would break every time I even shook it let alone brushed it. A store sales person said that this product would help. When I used it the first time it did help A LOT! I've started using the Clairol Professional colors instead of the cheap stuff and that helped too. My hair didn't need colored as often. The second time I used it, I used two packets and getting it thoroughly saturated worked even better. Yes the first step smells a bit but only till it's washed out good. Make sure to leave the second step on long enough too."

Simply Amazing!
Date:December 3, 2010
Pros: reduces shedding, affordable, easly to apply
Cons: slight ordor (step 1)
"This protein treatment rocks! My hair is know to shed as the winter approaches and this treatment help reduce my shedding instantly. It is important to follow the directions carefully. Yes, step one does smell weird but it only last for a few minutes. I found that the treatment works best when I used a Aphogee shampoo along with it."

Didn't work like I expected
Date:November 3, 2010
Pros: cheap
Cons: didn't leave a clean feeling, smelled weird, messy
"I just used this in my hair and was really excited about it because I had read such great reviews about it. I was really disappointed! I didn't notice a difference in my hair at all! I I followed the directions exactly. It's not that it ruined my hair or anything, it just didn't do anything at all. If anything, it kind of left a buildup in it, and I definitely washed it out thoroughly."

Surprised
Date:October 25, 2010
Pros: it does what it says it will
Cons: step one is very sticky
"This past February I fried my hair when i tried to color it back to the natural color. Now it's October and I am still trying to fix it. I have done everything I possibly could to fix the damage, including getting an overpriced Keratin treatment. I had found this product while clicking around on the site for a product that would repair severely damaged hair. I thought, "Why not give it shot? Worst case scenario is that it doesn't work." I bought the packets as opposed to the bottle because of the price. I was so surprised by the results. It actually did what the Keratin treatment was supposed to do. I will definitely get this product again in the future."

Wow.!!
Date:September 9, 2010
Pros: affordable, hair so much softer &less fried
Cons: smelly
"I read all of the reviews, but I was a bit skeptical because I just had my hair bleached out 3 days ago, after having my hair dyed black a ridiculous amount of times..so needless to say my hair was like straw and breaking so much..well i followed directions for this product to the T so that it would work..and it did! my hair isnt "perfect" afterward, but it's so much softer and not as fried. :D I'm bleaching out again in 6 weeks and I will most def use this product again!! I couldn't ask more from a product this affordable..especially with the condition my hair was in. the only complaint i have is ofcourse the smell, and i had some bright yellow chunks dyed into my platinum blonde..they totally faded. but it's all good!"

Do as instructed & your hair will be perfect!
Date:August 5, 2010
Pros: really undid mushy fry frizzy damaged hair, pretty quick, does what it says it will do
Cons: smells like roach spray, moisturizer could smell better
"Just as previous commenters posted, do exactly as instructed and the hair will come out good as new or better.
My hair isn't as fry or brittle as it was weeks ago. I've used ION products and Saloon Inn to fix my burnt, fishing cable, wire, straw hair. Unfortunately my tips or ends were still feeling and looking like wet boating rope (worse than straw). I was thinking of cutting them but my hair was all already too short for my partners' taste. Not wanting to disappoint a great man who spoils me I went over to Sally and brought this. I can tell from the packet that I would need two. I have beyond the shoulder length hair and a lot of it. I wanted to cover my whole head and make sure this gets all of the strands.
This is what I did. I first used a shampoo for damaged hair (I used a small sample bottle of Pantene Pro-V shampoo for color damaged hair). After washing my hair with the shampoo I rinsed out the excess water, but kept the hair damp. Lightly tap the towel all over the head. Don't rub the towel, agitating the hair. Just a soft press will do. When all of that is done pour the packet that says "Two step protein treatment", this is that first step of this process. Yes, it stinks like roach spray. Pour the stuff all over the hair. Work your way from end to root, making sure you concentrate on the really damaged area first. After everything placed in, comb everything through with your fingers. making sure every strand is soaked. Then sit under ahair dryer to dry the hair. When the hair is hard as stone (really clump together like it had super glued itself/ took me just 30 mins for this to happen), then you're ready to wash it out with warm water. First wet it enough so you could lather it and shampoo your hair with the contents. After all is washed out then pour the "Balancing moisturizer" into your hair. Make sure it gets on every strand as well. What I did was to leave it on for more than an hour, then washed it out.
The end results are amazing. My hair is now better than before. It help cure what the previous products couldn't achieve before. I will definitely buy the bigger bottle next time, because it's so worth it. The only problem I have with this product is the smell. Even the moisturizer isn't that good. It could be better. Regardless, if putting roach spray helps undo a year of bleaching damage, than so be it. I can't stop feeling my hair. It's a million times better to pay $3 than paying $10 to have someone cut it."
