Good For Straightening

Pros: silky smooth tames frizz
"I used to use the original pink lotion to straighten my hair but it smells bad, is very greasy, wears your hair down, and is kind of hard to wash off. The light version really is light and smells nice. I use it to straighten my hair, it tames the frizzies and leaves my hair silky. I'm Latina, its very hard to find a product for my naturally wavy/curly thick hair. Products are either too light for my hair like Redken and John Frieda, even Sally's Beyond the Zone, or too thick like African American stuff. Pink is a good in between product for hair that's in between light and thick, but I can see how it can be too heavy for light hair."

Pros: none at all
Cons: terrible, greasy, heavy and doesnt absorb in hair, not moisturizing, waste of money, contains bad ingredients, meant for people who want to take their hair out
"terrible product. does not help damaged hair. does not easily absorb into hair. waste of time, money, and space on shelves to be sold. greasy, smelly and i would not buy this ever again no matter how low the price is!"

Old School Dry Helmet Hair

Pros: cheap widely available, "proud lady" company
Cons: does nothing positive for your hair, makes your hai dry & greasy at same tim, obviously deposits huge buildup
"Its moisturizers like this that led A.A. ladies to believe their hair was unmanageable and destined to be dry, short, and tangeled. I too co-wash at least weekly and moisturize and seal daily so I for sure know a good daily use product from bad. This product is BAD BAD BAD and serves no purpose except to make you hair a dry and greasy mess you will have to wash just to start over again. I did not even make it through one bottle!"

Pros: temporary shine, nice smell
Cons: greasy, sits on top of hair, doesn't "really" moisturize, heavy
"I'm one who is on the fence about the whole "mineral oil/petroleum is bad for you" conspiracy because some things that contain these two "no no" ingredients work wonderfully on my relaxed hair. This, however, is not one of them. It is a temporary solution for dry hair. Very temporary. If you like to moisturize and seal daily, please be aware that the m/o and p in this bottle coat the hair and make it nearly impossible to apply anything else except more of the lotion the next day. It becomes a vicious cycle of adding more of the bad stuff and making the situation worse. And eventually, this causes you to have to shampoo too much, causing more dryness and breakage in the long run.
I recommend using this in desperate times if you already have some on hand and it's wash day soon anyway. But after the bottle's used up (or you finally decide to toss it!), wise up and get yourself a water-based moisturizer and a natural oil to seal. I'm not purchasing this stuff again unless they remove the m/o and p. Gross!"

"This is by far the most horrible product I've placed on my hair & a disgrace of an oil moisturizer. This pink,greasy mess which sits on top of my strands, it helped caused breakage, build up & dryness. Stinks like some type of automobile oil. I purchase this product about 2 yrs ago before learning how to take care of my hair properly. This products has 4 of the worst ingredients as it main ingredients that a hair moisturizer could have. "Mineral Oil - Paraffinum Liquidum , Lanolin , Petrolatum"."

"Ethnic hair products usually work great on my white girl curls, but this stuff just coats my hair with a thick waxy layer

Pros: keeps hair strong, protects against brittleness split ends etc., has incredible shine
Cons: use too much and hair will become greasy
