Great Straightener, great price! Date: July 30, 2008
Pros: 2 inch plates make hair straightening quicker, gets really hot really fast.
Cons: hair can get caught in plates, can fall apart after many many uses.

"I have thick, wavy hair that doesn't hold any kind of style well (scrunching, curls from iron, etc.) My sister got this straightener about 3 years ago and it only recently stopped working. I bought a revlon 1" perfect heat straightener and it took an hour to straighten my hair! I was very unhappy with the result. I came back to Sally to buy another Helen of Troy because I was so pleased with the results that I had been achieving while I used it. I can't wait to start using a HOT again!!"

"This is not a good straightener. You have to use the highest setting and still your hair doesn't get that straight, and my hair isn't even that wavy or thick. You have to go over the hair 3-4 times to get it straight and even then, it's not completely straight, and this is very damaging. It also pulls your hair and once you go outside, your hair starts to wave again. I thought buying a larger size would cut my styling time since I have medium-long hair, but instead, it takes longer because it's larger size is more difficult to maneuver. The smaller sizes actually work faster. You also have to put very small sections through, or the hair won't straighten. I do not recommend this straightener at all!"
